Copter tragedy: Victims’ families from Perak to get aid, says state exco man

The helicopters were undergoing a flypast rehearsal for the RMN Fleet Open Day which was to be held in May.

The other victims included Cmdr Muhammad Firdaus Ramli, Lt Cmdr Wan Rezaudeen Kamal Wan Zainal Abidin,

Lt Cmdr Mohammad Amirulfaris Mohamad Marzukhi, Warrant Officer II Muhammad Faisol Tamadun, Petty Officer Noor Rahiza Anuar, Laskar Kelas I Joanna Felicia Rohna and Cmdr Muhamad Anir Mohamad.

Sivanesan said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to visit and meet the families at the hospital forensics unit at about 1.30 pm.IPOH: The state will provide aid to the families of the helicopter crash victims who are from Perak, says A. Sivanesan.

The Perak Health committee chairman, who visited the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital forensics unit on Wednesday (April 24), said the state executive council will hold a meeting to discuss the kind of aid that can be given to the victims' families.

 

The three crew members from Perak who were killed were Warrant Officer II Nurfarahimi Mohd Suady, Lt Sivasutan Thanjappan, and Warrant Officer II Mohd Shahrizan Mohd Termizi.

"It is a tragedy for the state. On behalf of the state, we convey our condolences.

 

"For those born in Perak, the state will always be with their family.

"Like during the Covid-19 pandemic when some lost their parents, we will help them," he told reporters after his visit.

Ten crew members of two navy helicopters perished after the aircraft collided during training at the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Stadium in Lumut on Tuesday (April 23).
