WASHINGTON (Reuters): US authorities found explosive devices in the car of the man who officials say tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on Sunday, citing unnamed sources.
The car driven by the suspected shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was parked near the Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday (July 14), the newspaper reported.
The newspaper and ABC News both reported that the gun Crooks used was purchased by his father.
