Pisang Goreng Vendor Faces Charges for Kidnapping Eight-Year-Old Girl, Declares Selangor Police Chief

At 9 am today, a "pisang goreng" (banana cake) seller accused of kidnapping a local girl on July 19 will face charges at the Sungai Besar Magistrates’ Court in Sabak Bernam."

According to Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, the 32-year-old man will face charges under Section 363 of the Penal Code for allegedly kidnapping a child from lawful guardianship.

He stated today that if proven guilty, the suspect could receive a maximum sentence of seven years in prison along with a fine.

Previously, Hussein verified that a report concerning the disappearance of an eight-year-old girl from Taman Ikan Emas in Jeram was received by the Kuala Selangor District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 6.30 pm on July 19th

Subsequently, we initiated an investigation under Section 369 of the Penal Code and Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001,” he stated.

However, Hussein mentioned that on the same day, the suspect returned the eight-year-old girl and another child to a spot in Taman Kelisa, Jeram.

“It was found through investigations that the suspect, believed to be local, took the victim in a black Perodua Bezza car with an unidentifiable registration number,” he stated.

Hussein reported that based on the received information, the Criminal Investigation Division of Kuala Selangor IPD located and apprehended the local male suspect on Jalan Pawang Jalil in Jeram at 2:40 AM on July 21st.
