Melaka leads the 2024 Sukma medal standings with two gold medals in wushu

Melaka has taken the lead in the 2024 Malaysia Games (Sukma) medal standings after securing two gold medals in wushu today.

Bryan Ti Kai Jie earned the first gold medal for Melaka, and his teammate Tan Pei Ler claimed the second gold in the men’s nanquan event at Dewan Wushu SSC, Petra Jaya.

Other states also achieved gold medals today: Penang’s Muhammad Danish Aizad Mohd Firdaus Chua won in the men’s Changquan event; Sarawak’s Stephanie Ngu Chai Ern took gold in the women’s Changquan; Federal Territories’ Lee Cheng Yang won the men’s Taijijian event; and Selangor’s Mandy Cabelle Chen triumphed in the women’s Taijijian.

Additionally, Terengganu and Perak each secured their first gold medals in the cycling individual time trials, with Kee Zhe Yie from Terengganu winning the men’s race and Nyo Ci Hui from Perak taking gold in the women’s.

Tomorrow will feature 12 gold medals across three events: road cycling, bowling, and wushu.
