In celebration of the 67th National Day, Rapid KL will extend its service to 24 hours for the first time. Starting from 6 a.m. on August 30 until 11:30 p.m. on August 31, all rail services—including light rail transit (LRT), mass rapid transit (MRT), and the monorail—as well as bus transit (BRT) on the Sunway route and select bus routes will be operational around the clock.

Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah, President and CEO of Kumpulan Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana), announced that Rapid KL will also offer up to 60 free intermediate buses between Putrajaya Sentral MRT Station and Putrajaya Square from 6 p.m. on August 30 to 3 p.m. on August 31. This service is intended to facilitate access to the National Day celebrations in Putrajaya.

Additionally, nine buses will be available on August 31 to connect Putrajaya Sentral MRT with popular destinations in Putrajaya, including the Botanic Gardens, Putrajaya Marina, Alamanda, and the Putrajaya International Convention Center.

Prasarana is committed to delivering excellent service for the Merdeka 2024 celebrations. Over 4,000 Rapid KL front-line staff will be on duty to ensure smooth 24-hour operations. The extended service is designed to accommodate attendees of various Independence Day events and alleviate congestion. Citizens are encouraged to use Rapid KL services to avoid parking difficulties, with over 10,000 parking spaces available at selected rail stations.

To support this initiative, Prasarana will collaborate with the Putrajaya Corporation and the Royal Malaysian Police to ensure seamless transportation and traffic management during the festivities.
