Inside GISBH's RM325m Global Empire: From Desert Resorts to Restaurant Chains

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 27 — Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH), currently embroiled in child abuse allegations, operates 415 outlets across 20 countries with assets worth RM325 million.

Founded in 2010 from the remnants of Al-Arqam, GISBH’s portfolio spans food, agribusiness, education, and biotechnology. With 5,346 employees under 25 subsidiaries, the conglomerate boasts an annual turnover of RM187 million.

Among its prized assets are a 3-acre agrotourism resort in Saudi Arabia’s historic Hudaibiyah valley, a 44.5ha estate in Australia for eco-tourism, and a hotel and villa in Sarajevo. GISBH also runs 12 restaurants globally, including locations in Mecca, London, and Paris, and has expanded its reach into Southeast Asia with ventures in the Philippines and Thailand. Despite the controversy, several GISBH ventures, including its UK restaurant, continue to operate.
