KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 — a late-night raid on a nightclub along Jalan Loke Yew, police arrested 136 foreign women suspected of working as guest relations officers (GROs). The raid, part of Ops Gegar, revealed 'tip' sashes ranging from RM100 to RM100,000. The women, mostly from Thailand, attempted to evade arrest by hiding under tables, in cupboards, and even inside a locked storeroom. The nightclub had been operating for just two months. A total of 350 people, including visitors and staff, were questioned, with those detained being investigated under the Immigration Act. Local employers and supervisors were also among those arrested.
