Setia Alam Snatch Thief on the Run After Caught on Camera

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 — Police are searching for a motorcyclist involved in a necklace snatching incident in Setia Alam, Shah Alam, on Saturday. 

Shah Alam district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, said the suspect, riding a Yamaha 135LC, pretended to crash into the victim’s Mercedes-Benz. When the 29-year-old car salesman stepped out to check, the suspect snatched his necklace and fled. 

The victim managed to grab half of the necklace, with the stolen portion valued at RM1,500. The incident, captured on the victim’s dashcam, has gone viral on social media. 

The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code, and anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant Shatish at 010-5643645.
