Subang Jaya Shooting Linked to Crow-Culling Operation, Police Clarify

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 — A viral video showing a man shooting in a public area in Subang Jaya was part of a crow-culling operation organized by the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ).

Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat clarified that the operation, conducted on Saturday (Sept 28), had been approved by the Firearms Licensing Unit of the Selangor contingent police headquarters. MBSJ had also informed the public about the operation through official notices.

The event involved 25 licensed firearm owners and adhered to strict safety protocols in line with standard operating procedures (SOP). Wan Azlan confirmed that the operation, aimed at controlling the crow population, was carried out without any incidents. He urged the public not to share the video or spread unnecessary speculation that could cause concern.
