PUTRAJAYA, Oct 2 — In response to the escalating security crisis in Lebanon, Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry is arranging the evacuation of 15 Malaysians and three foreign spouses.
According to a statement from the ministry, nine Malaysians have already voluntarily departed, while four have opted to remain in the country. The Malaysian embassy in Beirut will continue to operate with four staff members on-site until further notice.
The ministry also condemned the ongoing Israeli airstrikes and ground operations in Lebanon, asserting that these actions violate Lebanon's sovereignty and stability and breach international law. Malaysia has called for all parties to avoid escalating tensions further and has joined the global call for an immediate ceasefire to prevent a humanitarian crisis in Lebanon.
