GEORGE TOWN, Oct 7* — A 44-year-old man, A. Sekar, was found drowned at Pantai Tanjung Tokong yesterday evening. His body was discovered about 50 meters from the shore at 6:34 PM.
Timur Laut district acting police chief Supt Lee Swee Sake reported that Sekar had been swimming with a friend when he ventured towards a rock further out and did not return.
The medical team confirmed his death after the fire department retrieved his body. It has been sent to Penang Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
