Indecent Behavior at Johor International Run: Two Foreign Nationals Face Charges, Says Police Chief

KOTA TINGGI, Oct 7* — Two foreign nationals, aged 66 and 70, are set to be charged in the Sessions Court today for alleged indecent and insulting behavior during the 2024 Pan Asia International Run held last Saturday.

Johor Police Chief Datuk M Kumar announced that the men will be charged under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code. The investigation focused on incidents that occurred in the Desaru area, which raised religious sensitivities due to some participants' conduct.

The case was referred to the State Prosecution Office yesterday, and authorities received instructions to proceed with charges. Initially, three men, including the two foreigners, were arrested, and police confiscated their clothing and accessories worn during the event.
