Superstar Rajinikanth and acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam are set to collaborate once again,
after 33 years. Their previous collaboration was the 1991 release 'Thalapathi', which attained a cult status in Kollywood.
Rumours are rife that director Mani Ratnam is planning to approach Rajinikanth for his next film.
Their previous collaboration, which also featured Mammooty in the lead role, was inspired by Mahabharatha's Karna and Duryodana's friendship.
On the other hand, Mani Ratnam collaborated with Kamal Haasan after 34 years for 'Thug Life' and the shooting for the film has now been wrapped up.Scheduled for a release next year, the movie has an ensemble cast of Kamal Haasan, Trisha, Simbu, Nasser, Abhirami, Joju George, Gautham Karthik,
Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sanya Malhotra, Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi in lead roles and the music for it is composed by AR Rahman.
