TEHRAN, Oct 9 — Iran has warned Gulf states that allowing their airspace to be used for strikes against Iran would be "unacceptable" and would prompt a response.*
This statement comes amid rising tensions following an Iranian missile attack and as Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi visits Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations for talks.
During recent discussions on the sidelines of an Asia conference in Qatar, Gulf states assured Iran of their neutrality in any conflict with Israel. However, a senior Iranian official emphasized that any actions against Iran by a Gulf country would be viewed as a collective action, necessitating a unified response from Tehran.
The official also reiterated the need for regional unity against Israel and highlighted that any support for Israeli operations, including airspace use, is unacceptable. Iran remains watchful of how Gulf nations respond to potential Israeli actions and the involvement of U.S. military bases in the region.
