19-Month-Old Girl Diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer, Family Seeks Help with Medical Bills*

KOTA KINABALU, Oct 11 — 19-month-old Daneen Auni Riksi was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer after months of unexplained pain, constipation, and crying. Her mother, Fallarystia Sintom, was devastated by the rare diagnosis, especially considering Daneen’s young age.

Daneen began showing symptoms in August, with a bloated stomach and discomfort, leading to a hospital visit in Kota Marudu. Her condition worsened, and on September 28, she was transferred to Sabah Women and Children's Hospital, where doctors discovered a 13.5 cm tumor and internal bleeding. Daneen underwent surgery, removing her right ovary, and will soon begin chemotherapy.

The family, facing financial strain, is appealing for public donations to help cover the medical costs, as they struggle with travel and hospital expenses. Daneen's father, firefighter Riksi Tahir, is also calling for support, as the hospital has yet to provide an estimate for the treatment.
