KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 — A security guard tragically lost his life after being crushed by a fallen tree while returning home from visiting his sick mother in Kampung Tanjung Besar, Kedah, yesterday.*

Mohd Rizal Aziz, 47, was riding his motorcycle in Kampung Bandar Hilir when a tree unexpectedly toppled, trapping him. The Sik Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 5:58 PM and arrived to find him caught between his motorcycle and the fallen branches. Despite the efforts of around 20 rescuers, including firefighters and police, the team faced challenges due to the hardness of the wood.

Heavy rain and strong winds were reported at the time of the incident. The victim was recovered and later pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health personnel. His body has been sent to the Forensic Department of Hospital Sik for an autopsy.
