A woman has been arrested after a complaint from her wife regarding the theft of 60 pieces of jewelry from the home of renowned actor Karunakaran.

Karunakaran, known for his comedy and character roles in Tamil cinema, made his debut in "Kalakalappu" and has since appeared in popular films like "Soothu Kavvum" and "Jigarthanda." He resides in Karapakkam, Chennai, with his wife and two daughters. 

The incident occurred when Karunakaran's wife returned from work to find that a locked bureau had been broken into and jewelry was missing. After reviewing CCTV footage and collecting fingerprints of household staff, police identified Vijaya, a maid at their home, as the culprit. Despite her careful planning, her fingerprints led to her arrest, and investigations are ongoing to uncover any accomplices.

This incident follows a previous case where a maid was caught stealing over 100 pieces of jewelry from Aishwarya, daughter of superstar Rajinikanth.
