ISKANDAR PUTERI, Oct 17* — A 41-year-old man was arrested for filing a false police report claiming his children were missing to shield them from debt collectors.

The man, who has four children aged two to eight, reported them missing in the Mutiara Rini area. However, investigators quickly found inconsistencies in his story. Upon further investigation, the children were located safe at their mother's home.

Authorities revealed that the man was heavily in debt and likely fabricated the report to protect his children from harassment. He is now facing charges under Section 31 (1) (a) of the Child Act 2001 for neglect and Section 182 of the Penal Code for making a false report.
