Five Men, Including Person with Disabilities, Plead Not Guilty to Armed Robbery in Klang*

KLANG, Oct 25 — Five men, including a person with disabilities, pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court today to charges of armed gang robbery at a businessman’s home earlier this month.

M. Linggeshwaran, 23; P.S. Tamil Kumaran, 38; G. Siva, 33; R. Thamilarasan, 33; and S. Nagen, 28, faced Judge Sharifah Hascindie Syed Omar. They are accused of robbing a 54-year-old man in Pandamaran, Port Klang, at 6:16 AM on October 3, stealing prayer idols valued at RM74,500.

Charged under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code, they face up to 20 years in prison and can be subject to whipping if convicted. Bail was set at RM10,000 each, with conditions to report to a local police station monthly and not to intimidate witnesses.

The next court mention is scheduled for January 8, 2025. Deputy Public Prosecutor Annur Athirah Amran is leading the prosecution, while various lawyers represent the accused.
