Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, Amaran marks the first collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, debuting in theaters on Diwali. Fans are celebrating the film, where Sivakarthikeyan plays Major Mukund Varadarajan, a soldier who sacrifices his life for his country.
In just four days, Amaran has reportedly grossed Rs. 150 crores. Produced by Kamal Haasan, the film's success has garnered praise from many, including superstar Rajinikanth, who expressed his emotional response to the film in a now-viral video. He even called Kamal to commend him for creating such a powerful story.
Both Kamal Haasan and Sivakarthikeyan thanked Rajinikanth for his kind words. Additionally, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udayanidhi Stalin praised the film after watching it, with Stalin humorously stating that he "finally lost his mind" over the film, while Udayanidhi called it "good."
Amaran has received widespread acclaim on social media, and its box office collections are on the rise. The film is outperforming other Diwali releases, such as Jayam Ravi's Brother and Gavin's Bloody Becker.
Notably, this is the first film in Sivakarthikeyan's career to achieve a collection of Rs. 150 crores. On its opening day in India, Amaran grossed Rs. 21.40 crore, followed by Rs. 19.15 crore on the second day, Rs. 21.40 crore on the third day, and Rs. 21.50 crore on the fourth day, totaling Rs. 83.45 crore in India alone so far.
