Four major films hit the screens this Diwali: Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan, Brother featuring Jayam Ravi, Bloody Becker produced by Nelson and starring Gavin, and Lucky Bhaskar, a Telugu film starring Dulquer Salmaan that was dubbed into Tamil. Among these releases, Amaran, directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and produced by Kamal Haasan, came with high expectations. This biographical drama, based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, has been a standout at the box office, crossing 150 crores and gaining both critical and audience acclaim.
Meanwhile, Lucky Bhaskar, directed by Venky Atluri, surprised audiences by earning a strong response in both Tamil and Telugu markets. The other two releases have received a more moderate reception.
While fans initially debated whether Sivakarthikeyan or Dulquer Salmaan would be the Diwali box office winner, many now credit GV Prakash as the season's true star. His music for both Amaran and Lucky Bhaskar has been widely celebrated, with fans noting that his compositions brought these films to life. Unlike in the past, when success focused on the lead actor or director, fans are now celebrating all contributors, especially GV Prakash’s pivotal role in making these films shine.
