Vijay is currently filming Thalapathy 69, directed by H. Vinod, following his recent hit GOAT, which, despite mixed reviews, had a strong box office performance. Thalapathy 69 features a star-studded cast, including Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol, with Anirudh handling the music. 

The first phase of the shoot wrapped up ahead of schedule, much to Vijay and the production team’s satisfaction. Today, the second phase began with Vijay, Pooja Hegde, and Bobby Deol on set. However, recent reports suggest that a prominent actor, rumored to be Sathyaraj, has left the project due to scheduling conflicts, though this hasn't been confirmed.

The team plans to continue filming until May next year, with Vijay advising patience over a rushed production. Thalapathy 69 is officially set for a Diwali release next year, a fact that has thrilled Vijay's fans, as it marks his final film.
