Dhanush is currently directing Itli Kaadai (Italian Shop), a feel-good film featuring Arun Vijay, Nithya Menon, and Sathyaraj, with music by GV Prakash. The movie, said to have a warm vibe similar to Tiruchirampalaam, is progressing swiftly in production and is expected to release around April or May next year.

GV Prakash, who recently previewed 40 minutes of Itli Kaadai, praised its emotional depth and said it will surely leave audiences feeling good, fueling expectations for Dhanush’s success as a director once again. After the recent directorial hit Raayan, Dhanush has been exploring various genres, including romantic comedies like Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam and action films.
