Two men were arrested at Miri Airport after attempting to smuggle nearly 22 kilograms of drugs from Peninsular Malaysia into Sarawak. The suspects, aged 36 and 42, were caught with a haul worth RM1.99 million, including 10.83kg of Eramin 5 pills, 4.1kg of ecstasy, and 7kg of syabu. They were paid RM5,000 to carry out the operation.
The arrests were made during a raid by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) of Sarawak Police. Preliminary urine tests on the suspects returned positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine, and benzo drugs. Both men are currently in custody until November 13, with investigations ongoing under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
