Police Hunt Armed Robbers Who Targeted Bukit Selambau Oil Palm Centre*

SUNGAI PETANI, Nov 19 — Police are searching for four men involved in an armed robbery at an oil palm collection centre in Kampung Perak Sungkup, Bukit Selambau, last Sunday. 

According to Kuala Muda district police chief ACP Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail, the robbery occurred around 1:50 pm when a Honda City drove into the centre. Three masked men, armed with pistols and machetes, confronted workers while the fourth suspect waited in the car. One of the robbers fired a shot into the ceiling before they all fled. Thankfully, no one was injured. 

The police are continuing their search for the suspects, and anyone with information is urged to contact the police at 04-4236999. The case is being investigated under the Firearms Act.

In a separate incident, a 36-year-old man was arrested in connection with a robbery involving a 68-year-old woman in Bandar Puteri Jaya on the same day. The suspect, with a lengthy criminal record, was detained in Penang, and a stolen bracelet was recovered. He has confessed to the crime, and the case is being investigated under the Penal Code.
