World’s Oldest Man, John Tinniswood, Dies at 112*

John Tinniswood, the world’s oldest man, has passed away at the age of 112 at a care home in Southport, England, Guinness World Records confirmed. Born in Liverpool on August 26, 1912, Tinniswood became the world’s oldest man in April, following the death of 114-year-old Venezuelan Juan Vicente Perez.

Tinniswood, who lived through both World Wars and was born the same year the Titanic sank, attributed his longevity to "pure luck" and advised moderation in all things for good health. A lifelong Liverpool FC supporter, he enjoyed fish and chips every Friday and worked in the Royal Army Pay Corps during WWII, later joining Shell and BP in accounting.

His family described his final day as being "surrounded by music and love," expressing gratitude to all who cared for him. The world’s oldest living woman is currently Japan’s 116-year-old Tomiko Itooka.
