KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia thrashed Oman 9-1 for their second win in Group B of the Junior Asia Cup (JAC) at Hockey Oman Stadium in Muscat on Wednesday.
World No. 11 Malaysia defeated China (No. 48) 5-2 on Tuesday.
On target for Malaysia were Harris Iskandar Osman with four goals (first, 11th, 31st and 40th minutes, T. Naaveenash Panicker (sixth and 12th), Handzalah Abdul Hadi (24th), Danish Aiman Khairil Anuar (35th) and Che Nur Aqilrullah Che Khairulzi Anwar (54th).
Oman replied through Al Qasmi Ahmad in the 39th minute.
The Young Tigers are on track for the semi-finals with two remaining matches - against world No. 21 Bangladesh and world No. 9 Pakistan.
