A man was arrested on Thursday for attempting to sell a stolen Rolex watch at a fraction of its value. The 44-year-old suspect, who has two prior criminal records, tried to resell the RM64,000 Rolex Datejust 36 for just RM25,000 at a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur.
He had stolen the watch from a branded goods store in SS16, Subang Jaya, on Sunday. Posing as a customer, he arranged a meeting with the store via text, then pretended to meet his employer downstairs before fleeing with the watch. The suspect was apprehended at 4:15pm, and the case is being investigated for theft under Section 380 of the Penal Code.
