Two sisters were tragically killed in a landslide that buried their house in Kampung Bukit Apit, Ajil, Terengganu, on Thursday afternoon. Their 17-year-old brother, Uzair Azman, was rescued alive but injured. The fire and rescue team found the bodies of the sisters, aged 10 and 13, after a two-hour search. The rescue operation involved 76 personnel, and despite challenges posed by rubble and the collapsed structure, Uzair was rescued at 5:17pm, with the sisters’ bodies recovered later in the evening.

The incident occurred at 4:30pm, with heavy rainfall in the area heightening the risk of further landslides. Authorities have urged nearby residents to evacuate for safety. The family is receiving assistance, including alternative housing and support for burial arrangements. The two sisters, active in sports and valued members of their school, will be remembered for their contributions to school achievements in athletics and cross-country.
