Python Swallows, Then Regurgitates Cat in Eunos: NParks Removes Snake for Monitoring
A two-meter-long reticulated python in Singapore’s Eunos Crescent was spotted with a bloated belly yesterday morning before regurgitating a cat it had previously consumed. NParks confirmed the snake’s meal and took the python for monitoring and assessment.
While encounters with pythons are not uncommon in Singapore due to its biodiversity, NParks emphasized the snake's role in controlling pests like rodents. If deemed suitable, the python will be released into a forested area away from human habitats.
Photos shared online showed the python partially inside an open drain, drawing mixed reactions from the public. Some were shocked by the snake's size, while others highlighted its ecological importance. This incident follows a similar python sighting in November.
NParks advises the public to keep calm, avoid handling snakes, and contact their helpline if needed.
