NEW YORK, Dec 7 — Lionel Messi was awarded Major League Soccer’s Most Valuable Player on Friday, following a remarkable season that saw him lead Inter Miami to a record points tally and their first-ever Supporters Shield.

Despite battling injuries and making just 19 appearances, Messi finished the regular season with 36 goal contributions—20 goals and 16 assists—leading the league.

Messi’s MVP win adds to his legacy as the 10th South American and fifth Argentine to earn the honor. The presentation took place at Inter Miami’s Chase Stadium, where Messi spoke to Academy players, expressing pride in their growth.
