KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 8 – Malaysia’s women’s junior hockey team aims to secure at least a point against India in their second Group A match at the 2024 Women’s Hockey Junior Asia Cup in Muscat, Oman, tomorrow night.
Head coach Lailin Abu Hassan acknowledged the challenge, as India is the favorite with a strong squad, but emphasized the importance of focusing on reducing mistakes. He urged his players to stay confident and stick to their game plan.
Malaysia, who won their opening match 3-0 against Thailand, currently sit second in Group A with three points, behind China on goal difference. Five teams will qualify for the Women’s Hockey Junior World Cup in Chile next year based on their performance at the tournament.
