KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 8* – Indian music composer GV Prakash Kumar electrified over 10,000 fans at his first-ever overseas concert, "Celebration of Life," turning the National Hockey Stadium into a vibrant dance floor. For over three hours, Prakash, the nephew of Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman, performed his greatest hits, including tracks from his 2006 debut as a music director.
The show opened with a performance by singers Tippu, Haricharan, and Anthony Daasan, followed by Prakash’s iconic hits, and a stunning collaboration with Saindhavi on songs like Pirai Thedum and Pookal Pookum. The excitement reached new heights when Malaysian hip-hop legend Yogi B joined Prakash for a fiery performance, including their hit Engeyum Eppothum from Polladhavan (2007).
The night also featured rising star Arulini Ashwiinaa, adding a local Malaysian flavor to the mix. Fans were thrilled, with social media flooded with glowing reviews of the unforgettable performance.
Prakash, who performed in Coimbatore, India, last year before a crowd of 75,000, expressed his gratitude to Malaysian fans for their support, calling the concert a cultural celebration. DMY Creations, the event producer, promised a memorable experience, and they delivered, leaving fans eagerly anticipating future events in 2025.
