LONDON, Dec 12 — The Women’s World Cup for football in 2027 is set to be held in Brazil from June 24 to July 25, announced the global governing body Fifa on Tuesday.
The tournament featuring 32 teams, which is the inaugural women’s world championship taking place in South America, will maintain the same allocation of slots for confederations as the 2023 editions, with 11 teams from the European governing body Uefa qualifying automatically.
This landmark tournament will significantly influence not just South America,
but the entire globe,” stated Fifa President Gianni Infantino.
FIFA is expected to announce the hosts for the men's World Cups in 2030 and 2034 on Wednesday, with the 2030 event being awarded to a six-nation, three-continent proposal led by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, while Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 tournament.
