Loke Slams Hadi for Linking DAP to Najib’s House Arrest Controversy
KUALA LUMPUR — DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has strongly rebuked PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang for attempting to link his party to the controversy over the royal addendum in Datuk Seri Najib Razak's case.
In a statement today, Loke accused Hadi of irresponsibly using his usual tactic of blaming DAP for every issue, calling it malicious and misleading. Loke clarified that matters related to pardons fall under the jurisdiction of the Pardons Board, which operates independently of the Cabinet, and no DAP members sit on the Board.
He also criticized PAS for trying to destabilize Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's administration, accusing the party of using divisive tactics to undermine national stability. Loke urged Malaysians to reject PAS' "dishonourable politics" and reiterated DAP’s full support for the Anwar-led government.
The controversy stems from the Court of Appeal’s ruling yesterday, allowing Najib's appeal for a judicial review of a possible addendum that would permit him to serve his prison sentence under house arrest.
