Two Police Reports Filed Against Khairy Over ‘Complicit’ Claims in Najib’s House Arrest Case"

KUALA LUMPUR — Police reports have been lodged against former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin following his claims regarding a document on Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s purported house arrest. The reports were filed by Datuk Suraya Yaacob, political secretary to Minister Azalina Othman Said, and Nor Azrina Surip, political secretary to Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

The reports, submitted in Putrajaya and Sentul yesterday, accuse Khairy of making false and defamatory statements. Suraya refuted Khairy’s allegations that Azalina was complicit in hiding the document, stating that Azalina had no involvement in the matter. She added that the document in question was a rumour, with no official confirmation until January 4.

Nor Azrina also condemned Khairy’s claims, which stemmed from a video alleging Dr Zaliha should have known about the document. Dr Zaliha issued a statement clarifying that she had never seen the document.

Both political aides called for a thorough investigation into Khairy for spreading false information and damaging the ministers’ reputations. The Legal Affairs Division also confirmed there was no additional document regarding Najib’s house arrest.
