In a recent interview with Madan Gowri, filmmaker-actor Gautham Vasudev Menon opened up about his struggles in the film industry, particularly regarding the release of Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam, which has been stuck in production limbo since 2017. Gautham expressed frustration over the lack of support from his peers, stating that no one reached out to him during the film's delays. He explained, “When DN didn’t release, nobody even bothered to check in on what was happening.”

He further criticized the industry's indifference, saying that while success is celebrated, failure is met with silence. He pointed out that only a few individuals, like producers Dhanu and Lingusamy, have been supportive, but even they have their own challenges. Despite his efforts to get the film released, studios hesitated due to unfounded rumors, leaving Gautham to rely on his loyal audience.

Dhruva Natchathiram, starring Vikram, Ritu Varma, and others, has faced multiple setbacks, including financial troubles and the pandemic. Despite these issues, Gautham continues to pursue the film's release.

On the acting front, Gautham was recently seen in films like Rathnam, Hit List, and Viduthalai 2, and has several projects lined up. He is also set to debut as a director in Malayalam with Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, starring Mammootty, releasing on January 23. His latest directorial, Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha, is set in the same universe as Dhruva Natchathiram.
