Actress Devayani has made her directorial and production debut with the short film Kaikkuttai Rani. Featuring music by Ilaiyaraaja, cinematography by Rajan Miryala, and editing by B. Lenin, the 20-minute film stars Niharika V.K. and Naveen N. in key roles. The film poignantly explores the emotional struggles of a young girl who loses her mother and is left to live with her father, who works in another city.

Kaikkuttai Rani has earned the Best Children's Short Film award at the 17th Jaipur International Film Festival. Devayani shared her excitement over the achievement, saying, “Winning an award for my first directed short film is a proud moment. We are also working on submitting the film to international film festivals.
