A 25-year-old man seen walking around Sungai Besar wrapped like a mummy in white cloth was found to be mentally ill. The incident, which went viral after a video showed him roaming the area at 10 am, prompted an investigation by police.

Sabak Bernam police chief, Superintendent Robin Guha Thakurta, confirmed the man had been detained and taken to Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Hospital for treatment.

The man had walked about six kilometres, from Panchang Bedena to Sungai Besar town, dangerously strolling in the middle of the road with his face covered. Police urge the public to report such incidents directly to authorities instead of posting them on social media.
