A 17-year-old Form Five student tragically died in a suspected street racing crash on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway early this morning. The victim was riding his motorcycle from George Town to Batu Maung when the accident occurred in front of the Keysight factory around 4:30 am.

Barat Daya District police chief ACP Sazalee Adam confirmed the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries. While the exact cause of the accident and the number of vehicles involved remain unclear, the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division is investigating the incident. The body was sent to the Balik Pulau Hospital Forensic Unit for an autopsy.

Authorities are urging witnesses to come forward, as no one has yet assisted with the investigation. The case is being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
