Family of Four Injured in Three-Car Crash Caused by Detached Tanker Tire Near Sitiawan
IPOH — A family of four was injured in a three-car collision on the West Coast Expressway (WCE) near Sitiawan last night, caused by a detached tire from a 45-tonne oil tanker.
The victims, including a 36-year-old woman trapped in a Toyota Yaris, a 35-year-old man, and two young boys aged three and four, were all injured. Fortunately, the drivers of the other vehicles—a Honda Civic, a Mercedes, and the Volvo tanker—were unharmed.
The Perak Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 8:40 pm and arrived at the scene 13 minutes later. Firefighters used hydraulic tools to rescue the trapped woman, and the injured were treated by Emergency Medical Rescue Services and the Ministry of Health. The operation ended at 10:36 pm.
