OpenAI Teams Up with Retro Biosciences to Use AI for Stem Cell Research, Aiming to Extend Human Lifespan by 10 Years"

OpenAI has partnered with longevity start-up Retro Biosciences to develop an AI model aimed at extending human life by up to 10 years. The collaboration focuses on studying Yamanaka factors, proteins that can reprogram adult cells into pluripotent stem cells. The new AI model, GPT-4b micro, is designed to optimize the cell reprogramming process, potentially accelerating and improving its reliability.

While currently in an experimental phase, the model may one day help create customized organs and offer breakthroughs in health and aging. OpenAI and Retro Biosciences are working together under the leadership of Sam Altman, co-founder of OpenAI and investor in Retro Biosciences.
