Woman Injured After Falling into Uncovered Manhole in Kuching
KUCHING — A 21-year-old woman was injured after falling into an uncovered manhole in front of a shopping mall on Jalan Simpang Tiga early this morning while on her way to work.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a call at 6:08am and dispatched firefighters from the Padungan station. Upon arrival, they found the woman trapped about seven feet deep in the manhole. Unable to climb out, she was rescued by the firefighters.
They administered first aid for her injured leg and then transported her to Sarawak General Hospital for further treatment. The operation concluded at 6:53am.
