Lorry Driver Killed in Crash with Trailer on North-South Expressway"
MUAR — A 44-year-old lorry driver, S. Thevandaran, died after his vehicle rear-ended a trailer on the North-South Expressway at KM 132.3 heading north yesterday morning.
Muar police chief ACP Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the accident occurred around 7am when the trailer, driven by a 49-year-old man, was en route from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur. The lorry driver sustained serious injuries and was confirmed dead while being treated at Muar Hospital.
The trailer driver was unharmed. Police are investigating the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
