KUALA LUMPUR — A 54-year-old comedian and actor has been summoned by police for questioning over a Facebook post about 'ham' that allegedly insulted Islam. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed the comedian's statement was recorded last Wednesday.

Authorities have also identified another individual connected to the case and are currently tracking them down. The police received 16 reports related to the issue and have opened an investigation under sections 298 and 505 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

The post came amid a heated debate over the halal status of 'ham and cheese' sandwiches.
