Drugs Found in Yap Xin Yuan’s Body, Selangor Police Still Investigating Cause of Death

KUALA LUMPUR — Police have confirmed the presence of drugs in the body of 15-year-old Yap Xin Yuan, whose decomposed body was discovered near Sungai Changgang, Banting last month. However, Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated that the drugs have not yet been determined as the cause of death, and further forensic analysis is needed.

The investigation is ongoing, with police gathering more evidence to pinpoint the exact cause of her death. Hussein emphasized that the process may take time, especially since investigations sometimes cannot be completed within the remand period.

The police are currently looking into the possibility of a drug overdose or a misunderstanding in the case, which is being treated as a murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code. The investigation is awaiting forensic and post-mortem reports before proceeding further.
