KUALA LUMPUR: Police have seized over 17,000 cartons of untaxed liquor and other assets worth RM15.15 million in two raids in Sibu, Sarawak. Two men, aged 32 and 41, were arrested during the Op Taring Alpha 2 operation.
Authorities also confiscated forklifts, lorries, and a car. The operation dismantled a syndicate involved in smuggling and distributing untaxed liquor in the region. Investigations are ongoing under the Customs Act 1967. So far this year, 41 raids have led to 44 arrests and seizures valued at RM175.94 million.
