Suriya, known for his dedication in films, has faced a string of recent setbacks despite his commitment. After the success of Jai Bhim, his films like Utthukum Tudandavan and Ganguwa flopped, with Ganguwa in particular teaching him valuable lessons.

Realizing the importance of careful story selection, Suriya is now collaborating with young directors. His next project, Retro directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is set to release on May 1st, Labor Day. Following that, he has projects with RJ Balaji and Vaadivasal lined up.

Additionally, Suriya is planning a major Malayalam project with Basil Joseph, which will see him act in 47 films. He’s also looking to work with directors from both Tamil and Malayalam industries.

Suriya’s wife, Jyothika, who recently worked on Kadhal The Gore with Mammootty, has influenced him as well. Visiting her shoots gave Suriya fresh insights, helping him choose better stories and directors moving forward
