The world No. 58 opened their campaign by defeating Thailand's 85th-ranked Pongsakorn Thongkham-Wongsathorn Thongkham 21-18, 21-16 in 31 minutes at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok.
Aaron-Khai Xing, who failed to qualify for the main draw of last week's Indonesia Masters, will face second seeds Shohibul Fikri-Daniel Marthin in the second round on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, professional pair Low Hang Yee-Ng Eng Cheong, ranked No. 41, suffered a shock defeat to Thailand's 68th-ranked Chaloempon Charoenkitamorn-Worrapol Thongsanga, losing 21-17, 21-19 in 44 minutes.
Former Olympic silver medallist Goh V Shem and his new partner, Choi Sol Gyu, had no trouble reaching the second round, cruising past Malaysia's Goh Boon Zhe-Wong Vin Sean 21-8, 21-16.
