Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi rejected US President Donald Trump’s plan to forcibly relocate Palestinians from Gaza, calling it an “injustice” that Egypt could never support. Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s longstanding commitment to the Palestinian cause and its support for a two-state solution, stating that the displacement of Palestinians would undermine the path to a Palestinian state.
Trump had suggested moving Palestinians to Egypt or Jordan, but both countries rejected the idea. Sisi emphasized that Egypt’s position on Palestinian statehood was non-negotiable and warned that such proposals would “eradicate the case for Palestinian statehood.” Egypt, a key US ally, was exempted from Trump’s recent foreign aid freeze.
